Louise Driscoll Pink & Lime United Cancer Walk
I am proud to be participating in the 19th annual TeamWalk for Cancer Care on June 10,2018.
Every year I make another milestone being a BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR!! On May 4, 2018 I mark 12 YEARS CANCER FREE. This year means so much to me and cannot wait to share it with all the people that helped me get to this year. I wasn't going to let the cancer take me down with it. I was going to fight, stay positive and become a survivor and I will continue to live each day to the fullest and cherish every moment that I can with my family and friends and don't take life or loved ones for granted. Getting through these past 12 years made me realize how strong I really am!! I am a strong woman and I have realized my strength and my power to help others!! Life isn't about knowing how to survive the storm, but learning how to dance in the rain. I was once asked, what three words come to mind when thinking back, I said awareness, strength, and believing.
This year also marked 5 years of losing my dad (Louis Rousselle-Pepe) on January 2013 to a rare form of Lymphoma I have learned even more the great value of having family and friends that can help you through your difficult times.
To me this disease was a nuisance and nothing more. It was simply an interruption to a life filled with endless possibilities that includes my own family. My advice is to find a focus and live for that. Do whatever it takes to get there. We owe ourselves that. I would appreciate any donation (no matter how small) to help me reach my team Pink and Lime United goal of $2000.
My efforts, combined with thousands of other walkers, will help raise important funds that will support cancer patients, helping our friends, family members and co-workers. TeamWalk funds make a difference in the lives of today’s cancer patients by paying for medications, nutritional supplements, wigs and prostheses, support groups, skilled nursing visits, transportation, mini-grants, and supportive services to patients of all cancer types. Funds raised enable Lowell General Hospital to provide assistance, support, and services to help people feel better, build confidence and instill hope throughout their battle with cancer. Teamwalk isn't about finding a cure, it's about finding hope, courage and strength to continue as a survivor. This annual event allows me to show appreciation and support the outcome for patients of LGH. Let’s help end the devastating effects of cancer.
Each and every dollar raised stays within the communities that we serve.
