SOUSA STRONG 2023
SOUSA STRONG 2023

SOUSA STRONG!

I will be walking again on Sunday May 19th with my SOUSA STRONG team!  I walk for myself, and for Dad.  In honor of Arthur (Pup) Pestana, Pauline Sousa, Grace Sousa, Liz Beausoleil, Kim Horman and so many others that are in the fight of their lives.

This walk is very dear to me. After being diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive lobular carcinoma in March of 2020, I was able to see first hand the benefits this walk can provide to patients like myself. The help that was given and offered to me by the Cancer Center during the hardest time of my life will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I also walk to honor the most amazing team of men and women that took care of me during my treatment at LGH.  They make the LGH Cancer Center run like the well oiled machine that it is. Every single person that I came in contact with was always so caring and friendly. The pandemic and cancer happened at the same time for me and I spent a tremendous amount of time there. I wasnt able to bring anyone with me for surgeries, appointments and chemo so having the nurses, doctors and staff treat me with such kindness is something that I will never forget.  (A special shout out to the most patient woman that took care of all my disability paperwork for work.  You are an absolute rockstar!)  Everyone was always cool, calm and collected and that made everything OK.  It was going to be OK.

I ask you to make a donation to the LGH Teamwalk for CancerCare. Your donation could pay for a patients wig, a co-pay that can't be paid, transportation to the Cancer Center and so much more.  No donation is too small or too big!

Thank you so much for your generosity and if you would like to walk with me I would be honored to add you to our team!

Thank you....much love,
just jill

Each and every dollar raised stays within the communities that we serve, helping our friends, family members and co-corkers.
TeamWalk funds make a difference in the lives of today’s cancer patients by paying for medications, nutritional supplements, wigs and prostheses, support groups, skilled nursing visits, transportation, mini-grants, and supportive services to patients of all cancer types. Funds raised enable Lowell General Hospital to provide assistance, support, and services to help people feel better, build confidence and instill hope throughout their battle with cancer.
